Mdina and Rabat
Second only to Valletta for being one of Malta’s most Instagrammable spots is Mdina. Known as the silent city, this medieval walled city is absolutely beautiful.
Stroll through the quiet pedestrian streets and admire the yellow stone buildings that are so typical of Malta.
Be careful with him military bastions, palaces, churches and museumswhich are great shots for Instagram. You can also get great views of the island from the high walls of Mdina.
Scroll through any Malta Instagram account and you’ll probably discover that some of the most Instagrammable shots in Mdina are the blue door with pink bougainvillea and the great city gate. When visiting malta It is one of the most popular places to take photographs.
While these are pretty backgrounds, for something a little different, head over to Saint Paul catacombsjust outside the old city walls. You’ll need a fast lens for the dark, but this is an atmospheric experience in Malta. During my visit, I found it moving and a little terrifying.
How to get to Mdina
it’s easy getting around Malta by bus. From Valletta, take bus 51, 52 or 53, which will take you directly to Mdina in half an hour.
From Sliema or St. Julian’s, take bus no. 202, with a journey time of just over an hour.
Alternatively, book a Malta Uber or Bolt to take you to Mdina directly from your accommodation.
